    Nairobi → Samburu

    North past Mount Kenya, arriving in Samburu for lunch and an afternoon on the Ewaso Nyiro.

    A full day for the arid-country specials and the leopard of the riverine forest.

  3. Day 3

    Samburu → Ol Pejeta

    South to the conservancy. Afternoon game drive, with the option of rhino tracking on foot.

    Ol Pejeta → Maasai Mara

    Morning drive, then a light-aircraft flight across to the Mara. Afternoon game drive on arrival.

    Maasai Mara

    A full day in the reserve. Sunrise balloon flight available.

    Maasai Mara

    A second full day, ranging into the Mara Triangle and along the escarpment.

  7. Day 7

    Maasai Mara → Lake Manyara

    Fly or drive across the border to northern Tanzania. Afternoon game drive at Manyara.

    Morning in the groundwater forest, then up onto the crater rim for the afternoon.

    Ngorongoro → Serengeti
