Hell's Gate & Lake Naivasha Day Trip

Cycle through a national park, then a boat among the hippo

  • Day trip

Hell's Gate is one of very few Kenyan parks you are allowed to explore on foot or by bicycle, because it has no big cats to speak of. You ride between red cliffs with zebra and giraffe alongside you, walk the gorge, and finish with a boat trip on Lake Naivasha.

Trip highlights

  • Cycling among zebra, giraffe, eland and buffalo — no vehicle between you and them
  • Fischer's Tower and the Ol Njorowa gorge, with hot springs in the rock
  • A boat trip on Lake Naivasha for hippo, pelican and fish eagle
  • An optional walk on Crescent Island among plains game
  • Geothermal steam vents and the Olkaria fields

Day by day
