Seven kilometres from the centre of Nairobi, 117 square kilometres of open plain hold lion, black rhino, buffalo, giraffe and over four hundred bird species. It is the only national park of its kind inside a capital city, and it makes an excellent first or last morning in Kenya.

Day by day

  1. Morning option

    07:00 – 12:00

    Pick-up from your hotel at 07:00 and at the gate by 07:45 for park formalities. Three hours of game driving across the plains, along the Athi river and through the acacia. Back at your hotel around midday, or dropped at the Carnivore restaurant if you would like lunch there.

  2. Afternoon option

    14:00 – 18:00

    Pick-up at 14:00, in the park by 14:45, and out on the plains through the best light of the day. Back at your hotel by around 18:00.
