8 Days Kilimanjaro — Lemosho Route

The most scenic route, and the one with the best summit statistics

  • Trekking

Lemosho approaches from the west across the Shira plateau, giving you two days of gentle high walking before the route joins Machame. It is the longest of the standard routes and, precisely because of that, the one with the highest success rate.

Trip highlights

  • The highest summit success rate of any standard route
  • Two days crossing the Shira plateau, a collapsed caldera at 3,800 m
  • The Barranco Wall and the southern circuit
  • Genuinely quiet for the first three days
  • Eight days means a real acclimatisation profile, not a rushed one
