6 Days Kilimanjaro — Marangu Route
The Coca-Cola Route — the only one with huts instead of tents
- Trekking
Marangu is the gentlest gradient on the mountain and the only route with dormitory huts, bunks and mattresses the whole way. It is the driest route and the shortest, but you ascend and descend the same path, and the six-day version with an acclimatisation day is far more likely to get you to the top than the five-day one.
Trip highlights
- Huts with bunks, mattresses and dining halls — no tents needed
- The gentlest ascent profile on the mountain
- An acclimatisation day at Horombo with a walk to Zebra Rocks
- Gilman's Point on the crater rim, then the walk round to Uhuru
