7 Days Kilimanjaro — Machame Route
The Whiskey Route — harder walking, better acclimatisation, higher success rate
- Trekking
Machame is the most popular route on Kilimanjaro for good reason: it climbs high and sleeps low, which is exactly what your body needs. Seven days rather than six adds an acclimatisation day at Karanga and lifts summit success significantly.
Trip highlights
- Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m — the highest point in Africa
- The Barranco Wall, the best scrambling on the mountain
- Five distinct climate zones in five days of walking
- An extra night at Karanga for acclimatisation
- Daily pulse-oximetry checks by your guide
