Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Nairobi → Samburu

    Drive north via Nanyuki and the equator, arriving in Samburu for lunch. Afternoon game drive along the river.

  2. Day 2

    Samburu

    A full day of game drives on both banks of the Ewaso Nyiro, looking for leopard in the riverine forest and the special five in the scrub beyond it.

  3. Day 3

    Samburu → Ol Pejeta Conservancy

    A morning drive, then south to Ol Pejeta near Nanyuki. Afternoon game drive on the conservancy, with Mount Kenya behind you and the chance to visit the rhino sanctuary and the chimpanzee sanctuary.

  4. Day 4

    Ol Pejeta → Lake Nakuru

    An early drive on the conservancy, then west across the Rift Valley to Nakuru. Afternoon game drive in the national park — lakeshore, acacia woodland and the cliff viewpoints.

  5. Day 5

    Lake Nakuru → Nairobi

    Morning game drive, then out of the park and south to Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon.
