A tight, well-paced five days that never doubles back on itself. Two nights in the Mara, a Maasai village morning, rhino at Lake Nakuru, an easy afternoon on Naivasha, and a last morning on foot or on a bicycle in Hell's Gate before the drive home. Daily departures, and it works as a group joining trip for solo travellers.

Day 1
Nairobi → Maasai Mara
Pick-up from 07:30, meeting the group and your driver-guide by 08:30, then west through the Rift Valley escarpment viewpoint and Narok. Lunch on the way or at camp, arrival in the late afternoon, and an introductory game drive through to sunset.

Day 2
A full day in the Maasai Mara
Out by 07:45 for a full day in the reserve — rolling grassland, the highest lion density in Kenya, and enough road network to watch a sighting properly instead of queueing for it. Picnic lunch near the hippo pool. Dinner and a bonfire at camp.

Day 3
Maasai Mara → Lake Nakuru
A Maasai village visit after breakfast — the manyatta homes, the dancing, and time to ask questions — then out of Mara country and north to Nakuru town, arriving early evening.

Day 4
Lake Nakuru → Lake Naivasha
Into the park by 08:00 for a morning game drive: the lakeshore for flamingo and pelican, the acacia woodland for rhino and buffalo, and Baboon Cliff for the view. Out around 11:00 and on to Naivasha for a hot lunch, with the afternoon free and an optional boat ride on the lake.

Day 5
Hell's Gate → Nairobi
Straight to Hell's Gate after breakfast. Cycle or walk the main valley track between the red cliffs, with zebra, giraffe and eland alongside you, then down into the gorge with a local guide. Back up to the gate and east to Nairobi with lunch en route, dropping you at your hotel or the airport.
