East of the Mara the land rises into the Loita Hills — forest, springs and open ridges, still grazed and lived in by Maasai families. You walk it with Maasai guides, camp in the open, and finish with two nights of game viewing in the reserve.

Day 1
Nairobi → Maji Moto
Drive west via Narok to the Maji Moto area, meet your Maasai walking guides and camp near the hot springs.

Day 2
Maji Moto → Loita Hills
The first full walking day, climbing gradually out of the plains into the hills. Donkeys carry the camp; you carry a daypack. Roughly five to six hours with breaks.

Loita forest
A day inside the forest the Maasai call the Forest of the Lost Child — cedar and wild olive, with colobus overhead. Your guides read tracks, name plants and explain what each is used for.

Loita Hills → Maasai Mara
A final morning's walk out to the road, then the drive down to the Mara. Evening game drive.
